Water Quality Test

COLIFORM*, ARSENIC, LEAD, NITRATES, AND MANY MORE

Contaminants find their way into water from old pipes, agriculture, industry, and other sources. Often these contaminants have no color, smell or taste. Local authorities will test at some public water facilities, but they don’t know what’s coming out of your faucet, and there’s a lot of pipe between the water treatment facility and your home. Contaminated springs and aquifers can also allow dangerous contaminants to flow to private wells from far away.

Home Inspector General partners with the only water testing service with unbiased treatment matching and health risk analysis – so you don’t waste money on treatment that doesn’t do what you need.

*Coliform only tested with private water sources (not tested for when the water sample is taken from a property with public/city water supply).

Basic Water Quality Test

Designed for basic water quality testing in any home, building, or facility served by a water utility. The results will include detailed analysis of common water health concerns and in particular, contamination from questionable plumbing and distribution lines.

Lab testing includes: Paramateres Anaylzed (10):

Metals: Arsenic, Copper, Iron, Lead, Nickel, Uranium, Zinc

Non-Metal Inorganics: Fluoride, Total Dissolved Solids, pH

Report analysis includes: Health hazards, plumbing risks, taste, odor, and appearance issues.

This package is designed for customers who:

  • Are served by a water utility they have doubts about.
  • Live in a home built before 1986 or an area served by old infrastructure.
  • Have young children or other vulnerable individuals in their home.

Advanced Water Quality Test

Recommended by Home Inspector General as an ideal baseline for water quality testing in any home, building, or facility served by a water utility. The results will include detailed analysis of common water health concerns PLUS an advanced analysis of organic chemistry including frequently measured disinfection byproducts from the addition of chlorine and chloramine.

Lab testing includes: Heavy metals, minerals, general chemistry, trihalomethanes, disinfection byproducts, volatile organic compounds.

Paramateres Anaylzed (44):

Metals:Aluminum, Antimony, Arsenic, Barium, Beryllium, Boron, Cadmium, Calcium, Chromium (Total), Cobalt, Copper, Iron, Lead, Lithium, Magnesium, Manganese, Mercury, Molybdenum, Nickel, Potassium, Selenium, Silver, Sodium, Strontium, Thallium, Tin, Titanium, Uranium, Vanadium, Zinc

Non-Metal Inorganics: Alkalinity (as CaCO3), Chloride, Fluoride, Hardness, Nitrate (as N), Phosphorous, Sulfate, Total Dissolved Solids, pH

Calculated Parameters

Grains per gallon, Hardness (Total), Hardness (Ca,Mg), Sodium Adsorption Ratio, Langelier Saturation Index

Report analysis includes: Health hazards, plumbing risks, taste, odor, and appearance issues.

This package is designed for customers who:

  • Are served by a water utility they have doubts about.
  • Live in a home built before 1986 or an area served by old infrastructure.
